Clinical Reasoning Assessment (CRA) is an assessment option for schools to activate in EMSTesting, helping students build the clinical judgment skills now assessed on the National Registry certification examination. CRA contains evolving, scenario-based questions so students can practice recognizing cues, weighing evidence, and making decisions the way they will be asked to on exam day.
The assessment consists of two parts. The first part is a comprehensive adaptive test. The second part is the clinical reasoning domain, which focuses on scenario-based components. These scenario-based items allow students to apply their knowledge to realistic, evolving patient encounters, helping prepare them for real-world field calls and the National Registry exam.

B. Understanding Clinical Reasoning Assessment Results:
Exam Result:
At the top of the page, you will see whether you passed or failed, the attempt number, and the time and date you took the exam, with your overall score indicated on the right. If you failed, you will see a warning indicating the minimum score needed to pass.
Domain Results:
The results will break down how you did in each domain.
- Green: Indicates a passed domain.
- Red: indicated a failed domain. You did not recieve the minimum percentage needed to pass.
Basic Info:
- Total Questions: The total number of questions seen in the exam.
- Correct Answers: The number of questions answered correctly.
- Domains Passed: The number of passed domains out of the total number of domains in the test.
Note: There is not an option to see the questions and answers after the exam. This reflects the style of national registry exams and helps prevent memorizing answers to specific questions, which would skew results because it does not reflect a student's understanding of the actual material.
You can review the test results for an exam at any point by going to the Clinical Reasoning page and scrolling down to the Previous Attempts section. Click View Results to view the results from any exam previously taken.
