Instructor- My Dashboard
The main dashboard is where you will have access to many different tiles that allow you to see notifications for submitted documentation, event requests, and manage attendance.
Note: Options and displays mentioned in this article will differ for users depending on their profession, class associations, and permissions assigned to their instructor role within Platinum Planner.
After logging in, this will be the default page you will be brought to. If you are in a user role, you can navigate to the dashboard at any point by clicking the my dashboard button under your name in the upper right corner of the screen.

A. Dashboard Tiles:
The green and black tiles on the dashboard relate to instructors. There is a staple tile that always remains visible: Manage Attendance. Other tiles will appear when triggered by a student's request or submission. An additional tool called Toggle alert visibility allows users to control which tiles are visible on the dashboard: it can hide user role tiles and bring them back when needed.
Note: Throughout this article, the word "event" is used as a placeholder for lab, scenario, and opportunity, as there are multiple tiles that serve the same function but are intended for the three different types of events.
Toggle alert visibility:
This tool enables you to hide specific user tiles from view on the dashboard. You will see a button for most user roles associated with your account.
Clicking the user role button will turn it black and remove the associated tiles from view. You can click it again to view them or click the blue refresh button to return to the default view.
View Documentation:
The event to review tiles shows how many pieces of documentation you need to review for that event type. Click the View Documentation dropdown to go to the appropriate page on the website to view your students' submitted documentation.
Event Requests Tiles:
There are two event request tiles: lab and opportunity. The tiles will appear whenever students have sent requests to join an event from their accounts for both labs and opportunities. Students can also request to be removed from an opportunity or request that the documentation be returned to them. Click "View Requests" to view the requests and either approve or reject the request.
Manage Attendance:
The Manage Attendance tile takes you to the Attendance page. The attendance page allows you to search, view, and mark your students' attendance.
Note: Our Attendance feature is optional. What is tracked is selected in the school's settings.
B. Accessing Your Instructor Roles:
Your instructor roles allow you to create events, review documentation, run reports, and access many other features related to our products. You can access your instructor user role by scrolling to the bottom of the dashboard, clicking your school dropdown, and selecting the Instructor link for the product you want to access (Planner or Testing).
