(School) Enabling Testing (Creating and Cloning Testing Cohorts)

For a cohort to be open for enrollment, at least one class must be added to either Platinum Planner or Testing, and the cohort must be published. Publishing a cohort also triggers the email to be sent to our education team for audit if an audit applies to your cohort (All AEMT and Paramedic cohorts and the first couple of cohorts created for any profession at a new school).

After your cohort is created, you can enable EMSTesting or Platinum Tests at any time, before or after students have enrolled.

Note: Payment has to be made for students to have access.

4. Click the drop-down How would you like to proceed? and select the option you would prefer. Click the drop-down to select if you want to Create a New Cohort or Clone an Existing Cohort.

  • Create a New Cohort
    • Under the Settings tab select the Curriculum for the cohort.  This can be changed later and will not affect test creation or Computer Adaptive Testing. 2:2 a-2.png
  • Cloning an Existing cohort:
    • Check the box for the classes you want to add to this cohort and rename them. This will transfer all the settings to the new class from the previous class selected. You can make any changes after creation if you need to.

    • Note: When a class is cloned, the tests from the previous class will carry over into the new class. However, the start/end dates for the exams will be set beyond the end date of the class, as the system has no way of knowing when you would like to administer them.

5. Save when finished. This will enable EMSTesting or Platinum Tests and the Edit Cohort Platinum Planner page to appear. You can make any additional changes to the cohort or class you would like from the defaulted settings. At this point, you will be able to add students to Testing.

B. Publishing a Cohort

A cohort can be published after it has been created, a platform has been enabled, and at least one class has been added. Students cannot enroll in a cohort until it has been published.

1.  If the cohort is not already published, begin by editing it (this can only be done by admins and cohort admins).

  • Click the Manage Cohorts tile on the dashboard.
  • Under Actions, click edit for the cohort you would like to publish. The draft cohorts will be bright yellow. 2:1 l- 1.png

2. Click the red Publish button in the upper right corner of the page.
