Whether or not you can take a break during your test is dependent on the settings of your test.
For Linear Tests:
Whenever you take a linear test through our program, before beginning, you will see your “Testing Instructions” page. This is where your test’s parameters are conveyed to you. Information like when this test is available to you, if there is a Time Limit, Resume Limit, or if the test must be completed using Platinum Secure Testing.
If there is not a Time Limit or Resume Limit you can leave and reenter the test as much as you like while the test is active. However, once the test hits it's End Date and Time you will not be able to reenter your test.
If there is a Time Limit but not a Resume Limit you will be able to enter and leave your test as much as you like while your time is counting down (so long as the test has not hit it's end date and time). Though depending on how much time was given it may not be wise to take a break. Once you have used up your allotted time you will not be able to reenter your test. Please note: leaving a test does not pause the timer. The clock will continue to countdown.
If there is a Resume Limit but no Time Limit you can leave the test and renter as many times as it states on your instructions page, but as there is no time limit you could opt to leave the page open on your browser, and as long as it opens it will not count against your Resume limit.
For Adaptive Tests:
If you have selected to take a timed test you can exit and return to your test as much as you would like, however, the time will not pause. Once the time allotted is used you will not be able to return to your test.
If you have selected to take a standard (non-timed test) you can exit and return to the test as much as you like until the test is finished.
