(Student) I signed up for an opportunity, but now I can't attend it. How do I take myself off of this opportunity?

Alanah Manning -

If you have signed up for an opportunity, but can no longer attend there are things you can do depending on the situation.

A.  If it is before the date of the opportunity, where the Opportunity is on the "Upcoming" tab, you can request to be removed from the shift.

B.  If it is after the date of the opportunity, where the Opportunity is on the "Ready to Document" tab, you can mark yourself as absent.

A.  Request Removal.

If the date of the opportunity has not yet passed, then you can request to be removed.  To do this you will first need to go into your student role for Platinum Planner.  Then follow the directions below:

  1. Select the "Opportunities" option in your red toolbar and click "My Opportunities".
  2. Select the "Upcoming" tab.  Here you will see your future opportunities.  If it is the day of the opportunity, but before the start time, the opportunity could be on the "Ready to Review" tab.  If it is on the "Ready to Document" tab scroll down to option B.
  3. Select "Request Removal" for the opportunity you would like to be removed from.
  4. Request Removal will bring up a confirmation pop up.  Add any comments to your instructor (optional) and submit the request.

Once the removal request has been submitted, a notification will be sent to your instructor for them to review. If they choose to accept the request, you will be removed from the shift.

B.  Mark yourself Absent

If you've signed up for an opportunity but were not able to attend and it is the day of or after the start date of the opportunity, you can mark yourself absent from the opportunity.  First, you will need to go into your student role for Platinum Planner and follow the directions below:

  1. Select the "Opportunities" option in your red toolbar and click "My Opportunities".
  2. Select the "Ready to Document" tab.  Here you will see your opportunities that are ready to be documented.
  3. Find the opportunity that you missed and click "Details" for the opportunity.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the details for this opportunity.  At the bottom, there is a section to add a message to your instructor (optional) and then click gold button for "Mark Absent".  If it is before the start time of the opportunity, the button will say "Request Removal". Clicking that will cause a notification to be sent to your instructor for them to review. If they choose to accept the request, you will be removed from the shift.
