Q: Can I add tests taken offline into the gradebook and have them count the same as online tests?
A: Yes! Our programmers recently added the ability to take tests that were administered offline, and add them into the gradebook so they will be calculated the same as a test taken online.
To do this, go to your Instructor home page inside EMSTesting/PlatinumTests, click on your class, and then select “View Gradebook”.
When you “+Add New Assignment” near the top-right of the page, the “Type” dropdown will allow you to select how this assignment will be categorized from all “Grade Type Descriptions” from that particular class.
In addition, there is also a new option next to the “Type” dropdown that allows an Instructor to assign a “Default Percentage” score to the assignment, which will give all students that grade for that assignment. The defaulted value can still be changed for individual students by editing the grade for each student.
This can be particularly helpful if adding an assignment for attendance or class participation, where everyone may have gotten a 100%, rather than changing each “0” to a “100” manually.
