(Student) How Long Are My Adaptive Tests? [NUR]

Sarah Smith -

The length of your adaptive tests will depend on two things. The test that you have selected and your performance on that test.

When you are testing if you are a RN student you will see approximately 36 questions per module (you will have 72 mins per module if you are taking a timed test). For a LVN/LPN student you see approximately 50 questions per module (you will have 75 mins per module if you are taking a timed test).

If you are performing very well and reach our benchmarks, the test will end early. If you are performing poorly and get to a point in which you cannot be successful, the test will end early.

If you have opted to take a comprehensive test, that test can contain multiple modules. If you are taking a full comprehensive test (containing all 4 modules) as an RN student may see up to 145 questions (and if that is a timed test, 5 hours to complete those modules).  As an LVN/LPN student you may see up too 200 questions (and if that is a timed test, 5 hours to complete those modules).

Additionally, your school may choose to allow for pilot questions to appear as part of Computer Adaptive Testing experience. The default setting is to include 5 questions; however, this number may vary based on your school’s settings. Your performance on these questions will not impact your results or affect allotted time if you are taking a timed test.
